In 2005, in the cellars of Plantaže, Vranac was given the opportunity for the first time to shape its strength and character through contact with French-Slavonian oak barrique barrels, placed in the new barrique hall of the renowned Old Cellar. Over the course of 18 months, the wood shaped its structure, added further complexity and deepened its character.
A very elegant and full-bodied wine of light yellow colour with a delicate golden hue. Aromas of ripe apricot and white flowers prevail, while notes of freshly cut grass and a very subtle citrus background add complexity and layers to the nose. On the palate, it is velvety, juicy and creamy, with a long finish accompanied by elegant freshness.
In the production of Pro Corde wine, traditional maceration and vinification are applied, combined with a special technological process that increases the content of proanthocyanidols in the wine — natural grape compounds with the ability to bind free radicals and have a beneficial effect on the human body. The wine is full-bodied, with pronounced aromas of black berry fruit, interwoven with notes of dried fruit and discreet hints of herbs and coffee. An intense and long fruity finish makes this wine exceptionally rich and powerful.
On the nose, dominant aromas of elderflower, acacia and lime stand out. The palate is rounded, light, persistent and full, with a finish marked by citrus aromas. Refreshing lime dominates the finish, making this wine appealing to every palate.
For more than half a century, the company “13. Jul – Plantaže” has been one of the largest and most significant producers of grapes, wine and grape brandy in this part of the world.
Its estate includes the largest vineyard in a single complex in Europe, covering an impressive area of more than 2,000 hectares.
With the implementation of the “Ćemovsko Polje” project, the largest viticultural undertaking in Europe at the time, worth 62 million dollars, a new chapter began in the history of Plantaže and Montenegrin viticulture and winemaking.
Montenegro’s terroir, situated between the Adriatic Sea, Lake Skadar and the mountain ranges in the hinterland, provides exceptional conditions for growing indigenous and international grapevine varieties.
It is in this area that Plantaže wines are created — wines of distinctive character that reach wine lovers in more than 40 countries.
