In 2005, in the cellars of Plantaže, Vranac was given the opportunity for the first time to shape its strength and character through contact with French-Slavonian oak barrique barrels, housed in the new barrique hall of the renowned Stari Podrum. Over 18 months, the wood shaped its structure, added further complexity and deepened its character.
The true magic took place in the silence of the Šipčanik cellar, where, under ideal conditions, this wine spent the next two decades in complete harmony with time.
Today, 20 years later, Grand Reserve 2005 expresses the full strength and potential of Vranac, reflecting an impeccable balance between fruitiness, spicy notes and the complexity of maturation.
A wine of intense, almost mystical, brilliant ruby-red colour. On the nose, opulent fruit aromas dominate, with pronounced notes of ripe plum and cherry, balanced freshness, and delicate traces of hazelnut, vanilla and dark chocolate. On the palate, a rich structure and silky tannins shape a long-lasting and elegant finish.
