Organised by the Belvin Wine School from Slovenia, a presentation of the wines of “13. Jul – Plantaže” was held in Ljubljana, attracting exceptional interest and demand for more seats.
Through a carefully designed programme, attendees had the opportunity to discover Plantaže wines, Montenegro’s wine heritage and the specific characteristics of the largest single vineyard in Europe. The tasting was led by renowned Slovenian sommelier Robert Gorjak and Bojan Gašović, Director of Production at “13. Jul – Plantaže”, who presented the characteristics of individual wines, grape varieties, the terroir of Ćemovsko Polje and the modern approach to wine production at Plantaže.

The selection of wines presented during the evening received an exceptionally positive response from the guests, who followed the tasting with particular attention and actively participated in the discussion on Montenegrin winemaking.
In addition to the red wines, which represent the hallmark of Plantaže, the white and sparkling wines also received very positive reactions, confirming that the company’s quality is recognised across different wine styles.
A special moment of the evening was the tasting of the archive wine Grand Reserve, vintage 2005. During the guided tasting, participants tried to identify the wine’s vintage, and most were convinced that it was a significantly younger wine, most often suggesting 2012. The revelation that it was in fact the 2005 vintage caused particular excitement among those present and opened a discussion on the exceptional ageing potential of the Vranac variety.
The tasting was marked by a substantial discussion on Montenegrin winemaking, during which participants asked numerous questions about grape varieties, wine production, the potential of Montenegro’s wine-growing regions and the ageing capacity of wines.
Additional value was given to the event by carefully selected gastronomic pairings, with each wine served alongside a suitable dish designed to highlight its characteristics and complete the overall tasting experience.

Numerous questions from the audience about indigenous varieties, the potential of Montenegro’s wine-growing regions, the production process and the ageing capacity of wines confirmed the strong interest of the Slovenian audience in Plantaže wines and Montenegrin wine culture.
Events of this kind represent an important opportunity to promote Montenegrin wines on international markets and further confirm the growing interest of wine lovers in Plantaže wines and Montenegro’s wine culture.
