Vranac Reserve

 Vranac Reserve

Vranac, produced in the best harvests only. Upon aging in the wooden vats and laying down in the bottles (3-5 years), the wine develops its full, characteristic and very recognizable bouquet. It is rightfully classified as the great, mature and opulent wine. Renowned Reserve expressses the best varietal properties of Vranac, but simultaneously testifies of its great longevity potential, even for decades. This is Vranac in its full brilliance and the expression of Ćemovsko polje to its greatest extent.

Vranac Reserve 2011

Rich, extracted, full bodied, mature wine of the velvety tannins, with the aromas and flavours of dark forest fruit and completely developed secondary and tertiary flavours, dried figs, prunes, dark chocolate and freshly ground coffee, being the msot recognisable. The impressive aftertaste is measured by minutes, and not by seconds. This os one of those grandeous wines that the Italians call the wine ’for meditation’.

SERVING

Temperature: 18-20oC.

Glass: large, tulip-shaped glasses

Recommendation: Vranac Reserve should be opened at least, half an hour before serving (better earlier, if it’s possible), with slow decanting into decanters, when its best properties will be fully expressed, its bouquet and full, harmonious taste of ’good, old wine’.

MATCHING WITH FOOD

It may be consumed during whole course, and the best is with the beefsteak, pork, smoked meats, noble, semi-hard cheese as well as the cheese with noble mold. It is perfectly matched with many types of chocolate desserts.
