MONTENEGRIN MERLOT

Crnogorski MerlotFamous French variety preserved its best properties in Podgorica’s viticultural area, but it also became subtle as a result of sunshine, rocks and grapevines in the junction of Mediterranean and continental climate. The best properties of the selected clones of the variety Merlot with Vranac variety have been trasnformed into Montenegrin Merlot – premium red wine, controlled origin and quality.

The wine is dark ruby colour, of the particular varietal taste with the discreet scent of rose. Subtle wine, harmonious bouquet and fullness which make it typical for the renowned wines of Montenegrin viticultural area.

Temperature:  16-18ºC.

Glass: large glass with wide bowl

MATCHING WITH FOOD

It is recommended with not too spicy dishes, made of the white and red meats, beefsteak, pork, prosciutto, smoked meat, hard cheese as well as with poppy and walnut cakes.

HARVEST

One of the best harvests in the history of our winery, especially for the red wines.The grapes have extraordinary polyphenolic contents regarding both the quantity of total polyphenols and their composition and maturity.

Location:  Ćemovsko polje, microlocality Šipčanik new plantation, Nikolj Crkva, Cijevna bunar 7, Cijevna bunar 9

Size of the vineyard: 50.41ha

Exposition : North-South

Soil: skeletal soil with over 2.500 hours annually

Planting density: 2.60 x 0.70m and 2.60×1 m

Growing type:  : bilateral horizontal cordon, unilateral Guyot

Average age of the grapevines: od 5 – 13 years
